ok my turn again,i have problems between 4th and 5th .

ps any one think they know the out come :whitstling:

Sorry to hear that @tails :(
Is the problem that you can't change up to 5th? Only I had that between 2nd & 3rd and 3rd & 4th, but have no idea why.
Took it out the following day and gave it 2 hours of 'Fun', but couldn't replicate the problem o_O
Keep us posted...and Best of Luck! :)

It seems to me it's not the engineering overall, but the foolish assembly mistakes that put us on edge, for you can never know which bike will be a bike that got assembled with eyes closed! Triumph is said to use a single line and every bike of every model goes down that line. That has to encourage mistakes, you think you are putting a particular bike together, grab the parts from the bin, and it's the sister model! Blindly you stick the parts on anyway!

I have no idea how the UK factory works, but I do have it on good authority, from a dealer who went on a visit/tour, that there were seven bikes at the end of production, that didn't pass inspection...and one of them had the wrong cylinder head attached. :banghead:

So a circlip being in the wrong orientation (if that is indeed what happened to mine?) is Chicken Feed.

I have been working away from home for a few weeks, so I've only ridden a couple of times, however, the last time I was out, I had another situation where I couldn't change from 2nd into 3rd.
Could this just be a clutch adjustment issue, or could it be something more serious...that might be linked to the initial gearbox breakdown?
Thoughts?

just picked mine up from triumph stratford,it went in for a problem between 4th and 5th.
any way after 2 mechanics 1 head of service manager and 1 warrantee manager from triumph its self taking the bike out for a run, none of them had a problem with it ???????.
anyhow, they put my tors on,and remapped it free of charge, cheers.
they said triumph will give me a years free warrantee on the gearbox,i could not say no to that, but they did say any problems at all bring it in.
so riding it back, yes i felt the problem straight away.
all i can say is .if anything happens when i am touring, triumph will know about it.

It works very much like Willy Wonkas chocolate factory !

barron is the bike sorted yet ?

Well...it's been a busy Summer, lots of Festivals
I went into Triumph and explained the, intermittent, problem I was having changing from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th.
It's just back from (yet another fracking puncture...I've now had four rear tyres, in a year and a half...and I've only been able to wear one of those from new, to worn out. The other three have been nail/screw/pop rivot spline ) having the Detent Spring replaced (although, allegedly, it was replaced on the gearbox rebuild).
Took it out to scrub the tyre in. Ended up being a 400 mile ride, which was GREAT!

However, towards the end of the journey, I experienced not being able to change from 2nd to 3rd.

Metal hitting metal! Pulled the clutch in, changed down a gear, which was back into 2nd. Changed up into 3rd...all good.

Over 10,000 miles from new and I didn't ever have this problem...only since having the gearbox refurbished. Is it the gearbox? Clutch?

Any help, would be gratefully received, as the Warranty runs out soon

Ride Safe!
