I know there seems to be a lot of it about but my gearbox just went tits up, can't find neutral, well no light anyway and the box just crunches and I get the odd random gear. If I try to move it just goes into a false neutral.

Can anybody point me to the vin number thread for upgrade kits etc as I cant find anything using the search thing.
I have a ferry to Spain booked on the 4th September.... not holding my breath. and yes the warranty ran out last month ffs.

Niel go to this thread

post 31 Leigh has a document you can down load it has the engine serial numbers that are in play for the update kit.

thanks guys got the details, bike is in the dealers will just wait and see what happens next, maybe I will be lucky and its only the spring thing.

Did it go suddenly ,or was there a build up to your problem? I had the detente spring break on mine, I could still change gears easy enough but it would sometimes fall out of gear if there was no load on the box.
Your problem sounds like a clutch to me.
Good luck with it.
By the way ,they fixed the spring a few weeks out of warranty.

It has gradually sneaked up on me . random neutrals and every now and then it would pop out of gear. but I was giving it some beans going to work (25 miles) then again on way home and it let go about 2 miles from home.
I'm hoping the dealer gets a look at it today but I will spend the day looking for another bike to go my holiday on.

The good news is that it is only a small spring on the selector shaft that has snapped. Triumph have ok'd it to be fixed at no cost to me which is great. I have tried to get the dealer to split the box and then fit the udate kit but I have got nowhere. I called Triumph warranty dept and was assured that if the box goes faulty in the future then they will fix it no problems.... didn't get that in writing tho. so hopefully I will get the bike back in a few days.
