The ones I removed were right next to the gas tank filler opening and on the windshield.

Mine didn't come with a windshield, and I don't remember removing one from the tank.

i agree the heat gun works well, sometime needs a little follow up with the adhesive remover. has done the trick on lots of labels thru time.
