The float arm is held in a stupid little clip…..(well, more like a little V ) about an inch up from its pivot point.
So far so good, now for the tricky bit.
When you refit the gubbins into the tank its dead easy to pop the float arm out of this little ‘V’. Sounds like this is what’s happened to you….
Its going to have to come out again…… :cry:

You could monitor it for a few tanks If it comes on consistently around the 30 mile mark, it’s a bent arm. If it comes on completely randomly its jumped out of the ‘V’
