OK, Now I'm really screwed. I finally got it to take the unlock code by going in thru the properties and adding it to the new code and hitting save. After several more tries, it took the code and started the download. It said (down load in progress), but then it had a pop up that said, (download timed out, make sure the bike is on and connected). So I tried several more times with the same results. I opened the Tune dash and before it wouldn't let me open it. I went to test and asked it to test the fan. It said test complete but I never heard the fan kick on. So I went back and tried again but it keeps popping up with (Down Load timed out, check to make sure bike is connected). That has taken me the last hour and a 1/2.
So I disconnected and noticed that the last few times that I turned the key off and on, that it wasn't sounding the same. And sure enough, with everything disconnected, I went to start the bike and NOTHING. The lights come on and the needles do there sweep but nuthing.
So unless I can figure this out. It looks like I am going to have to take the bike to the dealer and get him to straighten out my mess with a factory down load and just be happy with what I got. That is assuming that I haven't damaged my ECU somehow.
I think it started a download and then for what ever reason it Timed OUT. and has left the ecu somewhere in between. Any thoughts?

just from reading the literature I know there is a specific set of steps to take when the download fails. Can't recall them without going and reading through the material. It's some sort of recovery process.

From the Tuneboy website:

I Can Get The ECU Serial Number But When I Try The Download It Times Out. What Should I Do?
Make sure that the serial port on your PC has the FIFO buffers enabled. Find the Advanced settings for your COM port (in Control Panel) and enable the FIFO buffers.
You can also try reducing the speed on the receive buffers, this is on the same screen as the FIFO settings.

The timeout problem is fairly common and easy to fix. Try what Pig9r said and do the above. You may then have to go through the 'Recover from a Failed Download' process.

I have tested several tunes for Wayne, a few of which he knew would fail. They often left the bike in the same state you're in. The recovery process works fine, you haven't damaged anything. Be patient and follow all the steps in the documentation. Between that and the help you'll get here you will have no trouble getting your tune loaded.

Update: I haven't heard anything from Wayne today. I emailed him a copy of my tune edit as he requested. I guess its a good thing the weather is going to **** because my bike is setting in the garage dead. I still haven't been able to get it to load.

He wasn't able to make it. Maybe tomorrow?

I'm not sure if this is relavant, but did you make sure that you installed the driver using the exact instructions on the Tuneboy website. It was quite and intrecate process and probably took me at least an hour to an hour and 1/2 after I had the new program downloaded and installed.

I followed the instructions to a T. Doing this allowed me to at least make a recovery. Then I went to down load the tune and it started but then a pop up says timed out, make sure bike is connected. I can tell something has gone wrong because when you turn the key on, it doesn't sound the same as it did before. The gauges do there sweep, but I don't hear the fuel pump or something that should be there. What ever it is, its keeping it from starting.

If you screw your bike up too much, I have a nice little (figuratively speaking) R3T number I'll sell ya. I WILL make you a good price.
