Have you made the changes related to the timeout problem? If so, have you done another recovery from the latest failed download? Each time a load fails, as it appears to have in your case, you need to do the recovery.

Ok, I borrowed another computer and loaded the cd and drivers from the cable. I connected and started the process of down loading the tune. I loaded the tune that Pigr9 sent my and tried to down load. It came back and asked if I needed to recover from a failed down load? So I said yes. It went thru the recovery and then asked me to select a tune which I did.
It showed where it was sending the intialization, intialization sent, trying to connect to the Keihin ECU. It kept repeating this. Then it would come up and ask if I needed to recover from failed down load.
So I shut everything down and started fresh. This time I hit the tuneEdit.trc file that it had just closed. It opened up a blank map that was all solid green with nothing in the colums. But down at the bottom it kept trying to open the Saqem ECU. Has anybody heard of this? So I let it go thru its process of trying to connect to the Saqem ECU and when it came up and aske dif I needed to recover from a failed down load. I said yes. It came back and said could not recover because the tune did not match.

I think this is probably my trouble. It keeps trying to connect to a Keihin ECU but I must have a Saqem ECU. Any thoughts?

First make sure if you are using a lap top make sure it is plugged in. Second, if you have a battery tender etc, go ahead and hook it up to your bike.

Go to the properties screen and check or uncheck "precision timer" at the bottom of the screen. Then try again.

If that doesn't work, lower the number in the "wait time" box by 5 seconds and try again. Do this a few more times lowering the value each time. You also might try increasing it.

If that doesn't work, select slow download mode in properties and give that a try.

I have checked the precision box in properties and have changed the value all the way down to 4 as advised by the guys at tuneboy. I havent tried increasing the speed or tried the slow down mode. I will try that.
Thanks Brian

Also make sure each time you make a change you exit and restart the program and turn off and turn on the bike.

Out of the list I put up I have had the best luck with just plugging in the laptop.

I have been following this thread with much interest to see how the issues are being resolved. So are these problems common with TB, plus support from TB appears to be a bit sporadic?

I was contemplating getting one, but this issue has made me re-think that perhaps the PC111 or V is the better option; given that I am definately puter illiterate and tuners are more familiar with the PC it would appear that the PC is the go (especially for me).

Good luck T Evans I hope it all works out for you.

Tuneboy support is a joke. I had an issue with trying to get the diagnostics program to open. Ran all sorts of things for Wayne at Tuneboy. Then he just stopped communicating with me. I sent several other emails to him and he just ignored them. I guess when he can't figure something out that's how he handles it?? He was all over the Rocket forums when he had new folks to sell to.

Now, if he was selling them for $100 a pop, there wouldn't be much to complain about. But over the last few years seeing the group buys and the number of people that have purchased it ...............and then the product and support gets worse.

You are really on your own or at the mercy of others to help you. Each time I load it on a new computer and connect to my bike it is a different experience.

I have always used a PCIII because it is difficult to dynotune with Tuneboy. I also have a PCV on order with the wideband controller. If I was starting all over again, I would do the resistor mod, remove the secondaries and use the PCV.

Thanks Peter,

I would like to think that this is an isolated case and its just my bad luck. I have a PCIII but I wasn't happy until I could get every last horse out of the beast. From what I hear, most captains that have purchased a T/B have had and are having good luck with the T/B.
Hopefully, the folks at T/B will come to the rescue and get me out of this jam I'm in.
I'm pretty stubborn and I will either figure this thing out or I will load the bike and trailer it 5 hours from me up to Kansas City and have Brian help me get it corrected.
But seeing how you are in AU. already, I would think that you would have better customer support just by being able to pick up the phone and talk to a real person and not have to wait until the next day to get an email that may or may not help you out of a jam.
Like I said earlier, We have a snow storm barring down on us here in the next day or so and I wouldn't be able to ride right now anyway. But if was good ridin weather, I would be a mad som *****. lol
I just received my handlebar risers today, so while I patiently wait to get the T/B str8tened out, I will entertain myself by adding a few more toys.

I think that is by far the way to go, alot less tinkering, smaller headaches and more reliable riding time.
