I had cord showing when I got back from MV!!! I was very lucky considering the speeds coming back. Just installed a Bridgestone Execedra Max 140 80 17. I am so pleasantly surprised at how much less effort is involved in steering. Handling is soooo much better. How is it such a small change in tire size can make so much difference?

Stripes, it's important to note that the tire you just discussedthat is not an Exedra Max, but, rather, it is a regular, Exedra, designated the L309, by B'stone, I believe. Unlike the 130/70 17 Exedra Max I just put up front, the L309 is a bias ply, H-rated tire, whereas my new Maxax is a W rated radial.
