For Norton enthusiasts

What Brit bike enthusiast doesn't love a Norton. Beautiful machines. I'm not familiar with the ManXman but do recall the beautiful Norton Manx and the very elegant frame and their showing at the Isle of Man.

Paradox Force

But of course my favorite was the venerable Norton 850 Commando with it's beautiful polished aluminum cases and its forward canted engine.

Yeap the 850 was the Mark 3 which really kicked the goal & was made to comply in the US market. Great machine and a unique note. Gotta love a parallel twin even if the Mk3 was 58 BHP is still a great ride.

There is just something about old Brit bikes.

During the 90s I used to visit CINCUSNAVEUR (Commander-in-Chief, US Naval Force Europe), in London not far from our embassy. I desperately wanted to take a few extra days to visit the British National Motorcycle Museum in Bickenhill, with about 850 bikes, but was never able to so. When I read but the fire I was devastated by the horrific loss of so many "works of art" Brit bikes.

I believe they are in full recovery mode now though and perhaps one day I'll be able to visit.
