Just got done cranking up the R3. We actually started it up with the valve cover off. We never found a mark on the crank gear so we had to time it with a dowel in #1 cyl. Weren't real sure the timing was exact because when we looked at the gear it was between the notch on the block. So we thought might be one tooth off. Anyway fired it up ran great. Little oil to clean off not much. I will put the rest of it back together tomorrow. Thanks to one of the guys in the forum can't remember which on had a drawing of the cam Jig and I was able to make one out of a piece of aluminum. Thanks Saved me about $65.00. I think the hardest part of the hole thing was keeping the cams timed in place to tighten the chain but the Jig made short work of it. Definitely glad I did it my self. Well hope anyone trying to do their valves have as good of luck as I did. Ace
