I took a 22 out for a demo, it has the werks exhaust and while it sounds pretty cool with all the crackling on decel it felt a bit weak in the midband. I've been riding a 1290 SDR for a decade so I can't but wonder help if my expectations are just a bit off? Any 2500 c.c owners ride a SDR that can offer their impressions?
I don't have an SDR but I have this:

My Rocket won't keep up with that bike either, however I can keep up with my son-in-law on his 1050 Speed Triple. That was made a lot easier after I put the Penner tune into the ECU. The mid-range punch is better than the stock settings. Also, the OEM fuel maps are restricted in SPORT mode to about 70% so you can add some oomph by adjusting the ETV settings in that mode to 100%. The Penner tune or DNK tune adds about 30 more ponies from the stock maps. One note, any time you fiddle the maps on the Gen 2 bikes you'll have to run a switch check to regain cruise control, otherwise you get an invisible DTC 1275. After I put the Penner tune in I ran the switch check and today was my first opportunity to test the cruise, worked like a charm. I also noticed my hill hold problem may be resolved. Neato!

I had a 2013-14 speed triple se, really liked the Matte silver/blue paint job, but I found that one didn't quite live up to the hype. I still wonder if was a friday afternoon build it was so far off the bar reviews set for it. Thanks for the heads up on the map update.

The 1050's were a bit heavy and poorly sorted (my son-in-law has a 2010 Anniversary edition, that was sorted when we installed a "Tune of Death" into his ECU). And it weighs about 90 pounds more than my 1200.

The rocket is heavy. Bottom line. Weight makes a big difference. I have two 1290 Adv. Bikes. And I expected more from the rocket with its specs. But the extra weight over the 1290's is significant

I like the weight/heft because it reminds me that I’m trying to throw this beast into a curve and that I better be really respectful of her limitations. A 750 would eat up a Rocket on a road like the Dragon and is very flickable but I would be riding it to do exactly that and more. I know me and that’s just asking for trouble. I don’t ride on the ragged edge anymore. I’ve crossed too many instances of mud, gravel, oil, road patches, stuff on the road and farmers backing their tractors up with hay bales over blind corners/rises that I know I need to cool my jets. The six broken ribs, lacerated spleen, cracked vertebrae and two days in ICU are still pretty fresh in my mind after three years. And that was at at about 35-40 MPH. Tennessee limestone will jack your world up.
