Haven't tried it on the bike as I've always had Tune ECU for resetting codes, but on cars, if I don't have a OBD reader handy, it helps to totally disconnect the battery for a short period of time to reset the CEL. If it's a true code, it'll come back. If the sudden power draw from the short caused something to latch, taking power off everything for a short time will reset it. Unless it actually is a real hardware issue. Might give that a try too. Also which relay do you think is bad? Depending on what it controls, if you find a similar relay in a non-necessary function, you can temporarily swap them and see if the issue is corrected.
