You should use non-silicate in any aluminum block engine IMHO. For the uninitiated a silicate is sand...yes sand same as at the beach (although much finer in this instance). Some brands of coolant use sand to reduce build up in your cooling jackets in steel blocks. The sand is supposed to scour away corrosion as the fluid flows around the engine...does the same to aluminum BTW
 
Prestone, didn't you ever watch any of the Battle of Britain movies where the pilots of the Spitfires would take a round to the radiator and then say they had to go back home because they were losing their Prestone? ;) :)

Good enough for them, good enough for me. Of course there is always water wetter or something along those lines to put in with your coolant.
