Electric Supercharger?

Wondering if anyone has tried an electric supercharger on their
Rocket. Seems like it might work for extra oomph from time to
time; sorta like a nitrous tank.

It would seem to me that it would take more juice than the battery and alternator could produce to actually spin that electric hairdryer fast enough to achieve positive boost for more than a few seconds. If I wanted cheap power, I'd just go the NoS route.

It seems logical that it would draw too many amps... but I suppose
this could be calculated in advance. NoS or supercharger, either
are only for temporary boost in hp.

At under $200 for everything, it still seems an interesting and maybe
untried modification.

There are a lot of companies making these things now, and they must
be selling them. I assume they work at least somewhat on cars.

Even supposing you got only 5 or 8 pounds of boost.. my old Saab 99 Turbo
ran like a bat out of hell on that.

These things are pretty much a joke... they can't move enough air to be effective and can actually become restrictive. Skip it, spend that money on a tuneboy.

Its not my thing actually... I wouldn't bother with it. Really I'm
wondering if anyone has tried something like it.

Probably they don't work, but they do sell...

Unless they can flow over 150cfm (unlikely) they are a waste of time
I think thats exactly what they are
