EBC pads

It was a huge surprise to learn that the rears had worn so quickly in view of the way I brake. Something is just odd about that.

As I too was surprised at what I thought is low milage, but maybe it's not considering how much I do use that rear brake.
This style of braking harks back to my dirt bike riding days when I would slide into corners etc.
I know that "technically" this is not correct, and I do know that 90% of the braking is done by the front brakes, but hey, I'm not racing, just riding a smoothly "quick"
Even on my old T160 Trident, Guys would blast past me on the straights, but then I'd be shunting them "outa my way" on the corners and leaving them for dead.

I'm wearing out the rear (Geez that just doesn't sound right  ) faster than the front too, on the R3. Matter of fact, I experienced the same thing with my VTX 1300 when I had it. Maybe it's just the nature and wear peculiar to riding a cruiser?

Anyone running EBC rotars? Likes/dislikes?

Well an update on this post, those particular "Premier" pads lasted 1008 miles :-( but have just found out that those ones were Kevlar pads, and not recomended for the Rocket.
I've replaced these with another "Premier"set, this time Hi-Performance Sintered something.
Will see how these ones last.
Oh, and am changing my bracking style.
We were out on the weekend, did 500 miles and knowing that the rear pads were all but shot made sure I used the front brakes a heap more, getting used to the idea.
We did two laps of the Coromandle Peninsular, I'll do a write up later in the week on that one when I get the photos.
These photos are not of this trip but are the Coromandle Peninsular, just to give you all an idea of the area.

I have the same rattle on my bike. It has EBC pads too. I like the braking with these pads and now I know where to check and see if I can come up with a fix.

i put back the stock nissin pads (2.5mm pad left) and the rattle went away, then came back after a couple of weeks, though not as bad.
so yesterday i stuck in Brembos all round, and although they are the best pad i've used (over nissin, EBC, goldfren) on the rocket they appear to have a slight rattle :-(

the looseness is back and forth along their line of travel (not side to side), the inside pads closest to the wheel. which is strange as there is no delay in brake force upon touching the lever. and the pads are wearing perfectly even all round too. im wondering if a caliper seal changeout is required

Wonder if there's some pad binding? thus causing the pad to be wearing constantly?
Beautiful scenery , BTW , there Paul!!:Tip-Hat:

pads arent wearing out quick dude, just rattling

I wondered about that at first Bones but the Caliper is sliding freely, the Master Cylinder seams to be operating just fine and is returning correctly.
When I got the first set of premier pads, Ivan, the Guy I normally deal with wasn't in at the time so just ordered a set through the other Guy.
When I spoke with Ivan he said he would not have recomended that particular pad for the Rocket, its way to soft.
He is interested in my feedback on the second set of Premier pads.
I think my riding/braking style has a lot to do with it.
As a matter of interest, these rear disc pads are very common, and fit a variety of different bikes, so should anyone every be away from home and desperately need a set of pads, find a local M/C shop they are bound to have a set that will fit.
