Early Rocket's, No Fender trim???

I have seen aftermarket chrome trim for the front and rear fenders on the Rocket but I have never seen a production Rocket without the front chrome fender tip. I just saw a pic of an early Rocket and there is no trim on the front fender. Is this correct for early (04/05) Rockets or is the trim piece just missing?

Was the "aftermarket chrome trim" for the rear end of the front & rear fenders...maybe?

must be missing, the aftermarket setup is the rear of the front and rear fender and a replacement front of the front fender piece, 3 total.
