When I bought my 2017 Bonneviller T-120 the previous owner had put a fender eliminator on it. With my fat ass on the bike the licesne plate would end up tucked under the seat when the rear tire hit it on a hard bump. To resolve the problem I purchased another fender eliminator kit, one that put the plate on the right side of the tire held on by a bracket secured with the rear chain guard bolt. That removed the plate as a tire target, but the backing plate was still hanging there eligible for a tire kiss (the kit came with a new integrated taillight that I'll mount later). So this morning I got out my trusty die grinder and cut the license plate holder off the rear tail lamp. Not the neatest of jobs but it removed the possibility of snapping the tail light off on the next hard hit. When the weather is cooler I'll tackle changing the tail light out. I like my turn indicators (non OEM) so might forego the turn signal hookup to the new tail light (or pair them and see how that looks).
