Hey everyone, just bought a black 2007 R3 that I am optioning up as a fast long distance bike. I got hooked on the bike about a month ago when I was on the Aerostich Japan trip. I had originally rented a Scrambler, but the guy who rented the Rocket was totally intimidated by the bike and we ended up trading halfway through the tour. I had a fantastic time chasing a K1200S and an FJR up and down the mountains. I couldn't pass them but they couldn't get me out of their mirrors either.
I'm not big on chrome, so I bought the basic model rather than the Classic and I'm putting together an option package that suits me. I tried the Touring but it's just not in the same performance class as the basic bike. I have been combing all of the postings on performance mods and accessories and have gotten a lot of great info. Thanks to all of you who have contributed your experiences. When I get a little further along I'll share some of mine.
