Does this thing ever wake up?

Yes TC is customisable in Sport, Rider & Road mode. You can't have it off in Rain mode though - logically. Been a while since I was in that menu, but I think ABS is also customisable, I've set mine soon after I got it & have left it alone since.

The traction control has to be reset after every engine shutdown. Here's the warning in the owner's manual:

Traction control will remain off regardless of your riding mode selection until re-enabled, or the ignition has been switched off then on again, or the MODE button is held in to return to the default Road mode(which enables the traction control when the motorcycle is next stationary).

That means every time you want to ride with TC off you have to set it. Sorta like my Thruxton R and auto swap to ROAD when the ignition is switched off. On that bike I just have to remember to switch it back before I take off (it can however be switched on the go too).

Also if you think the cruise control is sweet, activate Hill Hold of a blow your mind moment.

Unfortunately im not a big computer guy. So how do you customize TC? I like my ABS why would anybody mess with that? What did you set yours to?

Actually atomsplitter i thought about trying hill hold but i am so use to just doing it myself i think it would screw me up. Not many hills around Houston.

So i went for a blast today and i have it in sport mode TC off, leaves real nice pulls till about 4000 then peters out. Im only at 50% throttle. Wont spin the yet. I sure hope it opens up more then this before i have to flash the ECU.

Why don’t you peg the throttle?

Page 35 & page 45 & 47 in the owners handbook have more detail on what's available, but a quick how to for turning off the TC in Rider Mode.

Press the Home button, it's on RHS just out of sight under the cluster, round about where your thumb would be.
This brings you to the Main Menu
1st up is Riding Modes (press the joystick in to select this)
the Riding Modes opens
Ist Riding Mode is Rider, select this (press the joystick in)
Scroll down to TC & select.
You have the following levels of TC available to you for this mode,
Off = Off,
Rain = highest level of TC, (eg 75%)
Road = mid level TC, (eg 50%)
Sport = between Road & Off. (eg 25%)

Select which level you'd like & either back out but pressing the joystick left to bring you back to other modes so you can configure them, or just press the Home button, the same one we started with, which will return the display to the usual screen.
With this done, when you select Rider Mode, your TC will be off.

Page 47 details how you can temporarily turn TC off each time you start the bike, which is what Atomsplitter was saying above, but I think you want it off permanently.

I have to say i am confused by the chart on page 35. So if i am in Rider mode, i can also be in Rain, Road and Sport? But yes off all the time would be where i would like it.
