Hello all fellow rocketeers again! Ive recently wrapped up swapping a 2014 roadster engine to my 05 standard. gotta admit running pretty good so far. after some minor tweaks n hiccups. But im now noticing a visible seeping or leaking of oil from the cylinder heads?!! Now engine did come to me with 30,100 some miles. so is this something to look further inyo with caution? as i havent taken er out on a real run to enjoy a day yet. i dont know if pics do any real justice to see well? but to add i will say i had difficulties filling oil to perfect specs in very beginning of giving her shy starts to see what i was working with-- as in yes shamefully did over fill oil somehow and let idle for a few minutes with a few first starts until i saw oil was overfilled and drained excess out. oil as of now is right at max fill line on dip stick.
CHEERS all. everyone get riding finally!! haha its that time of year
yeah i was friggin thinkin that also. lol agh bummer it to be confirmed. as said oh well think it was my own doing probably from first few starts n idle. This a issue to start walkin on thin ice by any chance or jus keep in mind to get around to it?
It’s just the valve cover gasket, not the cylinder head. A fairly easy job to do, many right ups on this forum. You can also check you valve gaps as you will have the cover off.
all great replies and feedback. thanks all! yeah i will definetly retorque to jus give a go n startin point...plus a good excuse to throw my ramair on finally
cheers all
yeah definetly only a seep. I was assuming this may of been my decel pop thorn in the side tho. there was one rather nasty bacfire crack also on that run we discussed. good to see its not a serious issue to attend to asap.
thank you
