Hey crew, who makes the best custom seats for the R3? I'd like custom stitching and some exotic inlay work like gator. LaPera? High End? Most outfits just do Harley's and other V-Twins. I see some of your bikes sport really nice, tricked out seats. Stock seats suck. Don't much care for Corbin...cheapie, fake looking inlays and mass produced look.

It depends on what your priorities are so take my recommendations accordingly. My priority is on comfort rather than looks.

The most "comfortable" custom seats for the Rocket seem to be offered by Russel Day Long. They aren't the best looking but people swear by them. Custom Motorcycle Seats and Touring Saddles - "Day-Long" Touring Saddles and Motorcycle Seats by Russell Cycle Products

I have a similar style custom seat made by Rick Mayer. He does some great stitch work so you might be able to work something out with him. I have been very happy with mine. Link Removed

Good luck on your search.

Good luck on your search.
That looks like a very comfortable seat.

What happens to that seat in the rain? Does it get soaked thru the stitching?

Mine is all vinyl and doesn't have any issues with rain. At least none that I've noticed and I ride in all weather (well, not the snow that we've had recently). The weave pattern is embossed into the vinyl.

Very nice seat. Impressive. Not the look I'm after but very nice nevertheless. I might end up with something similar if I can't find the custom, unique look that I'm currently seeking. My bike, though not completely off the chain, so to speak, will feature some edgy upgrades such as my dracul-based airbrushed art, Nitrous at least if not a blower, other misc. custom additions and unique features. I want it to have a personality and look that is complementary to my VTX which is quite singular in its way and a result of some considerable work.

Seeking custom stitching and perhaps some exotic inlay work on a frame rather like (but not...) a young guns iteration by Corbin. I don't expect to take the R3 as far as I did the VTX, but they need to be at least cousins in intention.

Thank you all for your input.

I do like the Rick Mayer single if he offers alternate stitching options and inlays.

Now you're talkin'.
it really is about making it an extension of your own personality,
sort of like the Triumph motto.
GO YOUR OWN WAY.
Good luck and can't wait to see how she turns out.

I got a waterproof seat cover from fast eddy for a stitched seat. Works a treat.

Hey Dracul: Kindly post up some photos of your singular X. We like the looks of the big X and would like to see your work.

We trudge on.

Check out my photo collection hereabouts. I have posted a few casual pix of the not-so-casual VTX! I still need to rake it a bit more, add some more of my airbrush stuff and trick it out with night (magenta or cobalt blue) Spyder Lights. My NOS is armed when the headlight is switched to bright (on the billet Skull piece).
