CPR for my cat box

Thanks Guys for all the good information. I think I want to try a N box first ( don't want it to loud ) Now the Question is were can I find an empty N box.. Any Ideas ??

Has anyone confirmed that a box without the cataylist will flow better than one with? I could see that it may not get as hot. But would venture to think the guts may be the same?

Now you have me thinking. Mr.Pig9r are the factory tunes the same for the empty cat box as well as the the full cat box with TOR's .. If so maybe we could assume (bad word) the flows are close to the same.. Sure wish someone could come up with a inside picture. Or maybe someone has a cat box of any kind hanging on the wall collecting dust, I could buy cheap and I will die sect it and post the pictures... JIMMY

Baggage answered that. Actually, some boxes were empty into '07. After that, they were all full. My Brother-in-Law's is empty on his '06. Mine is full on my '07. The cat boxes are marked as to the contents. If I remember correctly, empty boxes are marked with stamped "N" and filled boxes are marked with a stamped "C".

The C boxes are hot boxes for sure but I'm doing my part to keep America green......ha.

Jimmy- the only difference I have seen in Tuneboy in the factory tunes is that the secondaries are closed further on the off road or not catylist tunes. I think that is Triumph's way of richening the fuel mix -- instead of increasing the amount of fuel they restrict the amount of air coming in by limiting air intake.

First off my thanks go to Mitchcpc for the great pictures ,and to Nightrocket for sending me his extra "C" cat box for next to nothing.. With that said I was able to cut the a box in the right spot vertically and remove the guts. All I have left to do is make 1 simple weld all the way around and reinstall the heat shield. I did take pictures and will post them if the rocket still runs.. The only question I have left might be answered best by Mr Pig9r.. I still have the stock tune installed, and $400 for a tuneboy right now is a stretch. I removed a lot of restriction, and believe it will now be close to the same flow as a bypass pipe. In a past post it was said all the dealer tune was going to do is add more fuel, Do I need it ?? Can I mess around run to lean and burn something up. I guess my real question is?? Do I have to do some trailer time to the dealer for a $100 tors bypass tune or can I try a 12min tune and hit the road... Thanks again for all the help Jimmy
