Loaded TB today - no problem

Loaded USB driver for TB cable - no problem

Here's a shot of my laptop device manager:

Followed instructions and connected ECU to cable and USB to laptop, then opened the TB Tune Editor and turned on bike with kill switch on run (BTW, does it matter if the bike is in gear? Just realized I never tried this in neutral - and would that really make any difference?). Opened Properties and set COM port:

Closed the TB Editor and restarted it. Went to Get ECU Serial number, saw the light flashing on the plug connected to the ECU and got this message:

Okay, fine - I'll just reset the Wait Time

I tried this at 30, 25, 20, 15, 10, 5, and zero with no luck - even tried 35 (and each time I opened and closed the Editor)

I'm hooked up to a tender and can't figure out why I'm not connecting - can anyone help me with suggestions short of trying this all on a different laptop?

Thanks

Bumping this up

hombre gave me a couple suggestions in a PM, which I tried to no avail

Where the hell are all the TuneBoy/Computer afficionados?

Hey, thanks Triple

I did in fact wind up uninstalling the Toshiba bluetooth device - now everything works as it should

For those of you with a Sony VAIO, listen up:

You may find that the Toshiba BT Port conflicts with your TuneBoy Cable and drivers. The ONLY way for me to resolve this was to unistall that device and let TuneBoy take it's place. I highly recommend you do this BEFORE you install TB (see below):

I would encourage you to then disable the device, otherwise you will be prompted each time you boot up that new hardware is found

Also, be sure to follow the documentation that comes with the CD-ROM (I'm not sure if Wayne has updated the direct downloads of .pdf info on the website yet). The CD-ROM has been updated and is very accurate and will make your install a snap . . . unless you have that bloody Toshiba BT Port lurking there

Thanks for the good advise DC, I also have a Sony Vaio, I don't however

have the TuneBoy, but I'm sure your advise will come in handy when I do,

as I need all the help I can get.

I'm happy to know someone can benefit from my misfortune!

PM me when the time comes if you want - and before you install TB
