Changing Seats

I'm getting the Touring Combo Gel seat (w/ sissy bar) with the bike and am curious about how hard it is to change out the seat so I can put on a solo seat on the days I wanna go out and play 8) ...

Bordo, don't get the touring gel seat its crap, invest your money in either a custom seat or the Airhawk set up... :?

My Triumph touring gel seats (separate, not combo) aren't that bad. Much better than stock but not as good as a custom seat. I'm fine riding all day on it with just gas stops every couple hours.

If you want to easily go solo then don't get the combined combo seats and definitely don't put in a backrest. Like said, the back rest brackets are not easy to put on and off.

Don't need a back rest anyways. Just tell your pillion to hang on like she were on a rocketship. :lol:

I actually ordered the package thinking that since it'll see more garage time (with my current line of work - as I only get home for a couple of weeks at a time about every 120 days) than road time; it'll be good for them weekend getaways with the 'ol lady when I'm home and it'll be easier to take the stuff off (if I don't want or like it) than it would be to try to get it installed and lose riding time while I was home.

Sorry VictoryDaveAZ, I didn't even see your post until I started researching through the site about changing the seat.

I guess I need some R&R, these 16 hr days are starting to make my mind miss too much...

As for the seat, I'll probably just leave it as it is; maybe it'll give the bike that "sleeper look" :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: and worry about it when I get a real job back home that'll let me put the miles in on a daily basis...
