Cam chain woes

My 2005 Rocket with 6000 miles had the "paint can rattle" after a 70 MPH ride down I-64. After turning it off, it wouldn't fire, seemed like it had no compression. No Triumph dealers near Beckley, WV, so had to trailer it back home to Lynchburg, VA. Winchester Motorsports picked it up to repair, after several calls to Triumph HQ in Georgia. Talked to the mechanic today, he said the cam chain had stretched and jumped a tooth, bending all the valves and nicking the pistons. Apparently this is a known issue with the earlier Rockets, the upgrade kit will come with new tensioner, guides, and cam chain. Also some transmission updates. The mechanic wanted Triumph to send a whole new motor, but they won't-can't do that. So I'm looking at a new complete head, pistons, and upgrade kit. Luckily, I bought the Rocket as new from Millerbuilt in March, so it is all covered under warranty. And so far Winchester seems to know what they are doing.
