California Cold Snap....

I never had a cold weather starting problem with my 07. I did the New Years Day ride here a couple of times and it was around 32F. Of course my hands were so cold that I couldn't even feel them to remove my helmet the first time. Heated gloves were the answer.

I carry one of the jump starters now that they are readily available. They somewhat make jumper cables obsolete. I jump started a guy's truck in down town Port Orchard a couple of years ago.

And dying without warning seems to be the nature of motorcycle batteries. When I bought my 09 a few weeks back, I started it at my friend's house and rode it home. It wouldn't start the next day. I called him and it was the original battery, 8 years old.

It's that time of year again for us northerners.
