It looks good Nolton, but it looks like you have the older style BreakAway. It also looks like you didn't have to shave down your grip with the older style unit. The new model uses a rod to separate the clamp and the throttle lock. Too bad they don't offer a longer rod for the Touring. If I still taught machine shop I could custom make my own. I need a metal lathe. As stated elsewhere on the forum, the brake and fluid reservoir are not separated on the Roadster so I don't think it will work. I have a new grip for mine but have yet to cut it down and buy the new BreakAway.

According to Kim at BreakAway....

The 7CP01 BrakeAway will work on the Rocket 3 (Touring model only). However, the diameter of the flange on the throttle grip needs to be trimmed or turned down to 1.900" or less. The slip ring of the cruise control needs to fit over the flange in order for the rod to be long enough to reach the support which is mounted on the opposite side of the switch housing.

Ok update on the brakeaway it's not going to fit after further investigation discovered that my brake reservoir is attached to my switch gear so you can't split it to put the support ring in between

Can you find another solid anchor point for the support? I think with a little modification you could make one of the older style BreakAways work. Maybe even fashion another anchor ring that would mount using the brake clamp screws in front, but wrap around behind to tie into the throttle lock behind like it is suppose to. ****....I miss my machine shop! Don't know, I'm just saying because I have found work arounds to almost everything I have ever had that didn't fit right.

Not to bothered about the grip diameter can get round that no problem the problem is the support on the ones I've seen you separate the switchgear from the reservoir and attach the support ring between the 2 this is how it attaches on the r3t I think but on my r3 the reservoir and the switchgear are one unit thought about extending the rod that attaches the support ring to the main unit but to get past the reservoir you would be on the bend of the handlebars and not sure if it would work can anyone with a r3t tell me if their switchgear and reservoir are one unit or do they separate

Been looking at the old version and looks like that would fit because it doesn't have the support ring it has a arm that you can attach to the brake lever pivot anyone know if you can still get the older version

I have one on my 07 Classic if that means anything. If you do manage to get it on there, just watch where it ends up at full lock (to the right). If you're not careful it can hit the tank and chip the paint. Guess how I know that:mad:

That said, the think is great and has saved my wrist on more than one occasion. The best part about this one over many others is the fact that it disengages with the use of the front brake.

Good luck

I think I'll just sell a kidney and use the money to buy an McCruise one of these days.

Probably a little late and you may already know by now, but the reservoir and brake lever are separate on the R3T so you can put the anchor ring between them. I had one of the older versions but I sold it a few years back to another Valkyrie owner. I liked it then and should like it just as much on my R3T. I bought an Omni Cruise at Christmas, but I just feel the disengage when you hit the brake is so much safer. I'll probably sell the Omni Cruise as I haven't even taken it out of the package yet.
