I'm pretty sure the OP is talking about a Touring, based on what he said. e.g. there was no a black/white standard and it's not an option on the Roadster. I don't think there's been any changes in the power output on the Touring. Not being particularly familiar with the R3T, wasn't ABS standard on the 2012 but dropped for the 2013? At some point I'm pretty sure it was an option. Worth checking before you buy. As for turbos, they're almost always hidden under the bike. The thing you see on the RHS is generally a blower (supercharger).
 
According to the dealer in Albuquerque, most 2012 R3Ts had ABS, but not all. The current 2013s that are in the states do not have ABS, but are similar to the 2011s as far as accessories go. Around March-April next year there will be 2013s coming to the states that are all ABS, additionally I guess there is a red/black combo for the R3T.

I'm pretty sure if the '08 in Plano, TX looks good, I'll likely come home with it. And as another poster mentioned, spend a little bit of the differance in cash on some bling. Better touring seat, rider's backrest.... Anyone have experience with handlebar mounted stereos?
 
If they offer an extended warranty, buy it. If it needs the update kit you are looking at around $3k out of pocket (it was ~$3,600 out of pocket for mine).

Check the manufacture date of your '08....if it's '07 then you might want to pass.

To Rocket or Not to Rocket

I own a 2005 standard with 27,000 miles on it and have never had a failure and I run it hard. I also own a 2008 Touring model with 13,000 miles on it and have never had a failure and needless to say I run it just as hard. You have to consider that Most problems you read about here are covering a very large number of Rockets. Although there may be up-grades that doesn't mean every Rocket will require one. Neither of my bikes have been opened up for anything. By the way, most independant motorcycle shops can perform most all your maintancence with the exception of may be the valve adjustment and that's an every 10,000 mile recommendation.

I bought my Tourer in Carthage Texas. It was purchased from a Triumph/Harley Davidson dealer not too far away. I see that there's several dealers in Texas but they must not be too close to you. Go for it I know you'll enjoy it. I'm certain the only difference in any of the Tourer models is the ABS option for certain years and colors.

I need to sell one of my Rockets and although they ride and handle as different as night and day I love both of them so much I don't know which one to sell. So, I listed both to see which one will sell first. Owning a Rocket will change your life forever.
