Baxter Cycle

Great to meet everyone too. Friday night at Gus "the white spider monkey's" place was a good time. I can't remember who came up with white spider monkey....Bill or Walleye? And Gus, thanks for letting me leave my empties and about 5 gallons of piss in your yard. I heard Walleye marked some territory too......with the contents of his stomach.

Bill must have been partying in a different dimension because after Friday night Tom and I didn't see him at all. And we did hang out at Marne's only bar Saturday night. :D

Wild Willy came up on Saturday and Sunday. He is a new member of the darkside. Great to meet him. Danno came over on Sunday for the bike show.

And Flip...we'll get to that later. I happen to have a pic or two.... that may surface at a later time. It was a pleasure to meet Flip's very tolerant and patient wife, Amy.

On the way out of town on Sunday, Tom and I got to ride a few miles with a SC Rocket. That was an impressive display.

This was my first time up at Baxter's for the rally, (4th time this year though). I will plan on making it a regular event. The demo truck had four T-birds. I am really impressed with that bike, it's no Rocket, but a very good bike and lots of fun to ride. With the off road exhaust it sounds very good.

How much deeper can one mans appreciation be than from the pit of the stomache. Good news is that I let it go in locations that most people wouldn't be walking. I swear that I turned around once and it looked like a yard sprinkler system with people pissing any **** direction. I learned that BillZ will passout before he pukes......me on the other hand  I wasn't ready to sleep.

White Spider Monkey...ha, the name seemed to fit well:D

I was in the bar on Saturday night from say 7-8pm, slow very slow. Found a party just out of town, nothin crazy.

Rolled out of the sleepin bag at 6am Sunday, whipped off the bike, hit the Boy Scout breakfast in town and headed out. I will try to hit Sunday noon next time, just didn't work for me this year.

I shouldn't hang around Tomo and Piggr...now I want a tuneboy, cam, tall pods, move overflow$$$

Thanks for the pictures Tom. It was great getting a chance to meet all that were there. Glad to see there are no pictures of me purging my system or "The Albino Spider Monkey" in his sweat pants. Or BillZ and I drinking Jim Beam like Kool Aid. There are some images that I am still trying to get out of my head.

The segway was scarey. The guy it belonged to was from Wisconsin, he runs a charity that gives segways to disabled vets. That one had off road tires and a seat that folds up. Takes a little bit to get used to but could be a lot of fun. Don't know if it could out run your rascal scooter though Sam.

I just dragged my weary ass in the house. We went a total of 1900 miles. Here to Marne, Marne to Sibley, Iowa, up into Minnesota and across 90 to Albert Lea and down to Peoria and across to Fort Wayne and home (I hate Chicago, traffic and dispositions)....

The Bonnie and sidecar took first place at the show in the park. I had to get up and tell about it...I hate speaking in a microphone.

Anyways, thank for the votes. The outfit was a ton of work and it really makes me feel good to get a trophy for the effort....It was extremely photogenic in Baxter's parking lot and at the park. People seem to gravitate to it.

Amy and I had a great time as well but I have to say that the Bonnie is no Rocket and keeping up with a trio of Rockets on a smooth Iowa Road is a challenge. I ran out of throttle at around 100.

Amy and I will be there next year again.

As a side note, I got to visit the Polaris Factory in Spirit Lake Monday evening. Of course I forgot my camera.

Headed to bed now.

Guys,
that was a good photo shoot.
especially the antique bikes and Flips rig.
I noticed Flip, Willy, and Pig9r,
but noticeably lacking were the presence of
ToyStoreTom, BillZ, and Walleye...
any explanation for that?
I realize getting a picture without their faces covered by a bottle,
or cup would have maybe been a challenge, but Would have been worth it.
Maybe Amy took some pics and Flip can post them..
To include the missing members of our little group...
I for one, would like to see more since I couldn't make it..
Not the sprinkler pictures, or the tree hugging ceremony necessarily...
more bikes with our members would be nice tho.
Glad y'all had a good time, maybe next yr for me..

......I took a whole boatload of pictures but I need to get Flipmeisters orders sorted out and my head reattached to farming in Michigan before I offload the camera.

Got an order for brake pads last night for a Bonnie and thought the guy wanted R3 pads...my bad.

Broke a sway bar link coming home last night on the Indiana Toll Road. I hit a chuckhole just right and snapped a link on the driver's side. Was a noisy ride the rest of the way with the bar rubbing the lower 'A' arm and every bump causing a racket.

I'll get them all up by Saturday and everyone can see Tomo and Pigger......those other guys were just too scarce......
