Well my Clutch is kaput on my R3 and when it was not that is was something else....Long to short she has sat on the Paddock stand more often than not as I am not uber handy with spanners and this was the first bike I bought used with 18K miles.

So I am sitting here having ridden maybe 1000 miles since December with 8 wks of it being down time with mechanical probs and who knows what going forward. **** I am blathering....I will get to the point.

I have a change to get a New 2012 Ducati Diavel In either Black or Red for 10K and am seriously considering it.

Any of you guys ridden one?

10K seems like a good price.

I know they are finnicky bikes but I am good for two years as these bikes have not been registered yet.

It is a different type of darksiding:)

Cheers....Greg

The new ones are way better, IMHO.
None are a true long range hot-ass cruiser like the Rocket Roadster!
I wouldn't mind one as a second motor in my garage.

The new ones are 20K + whats the diff..>The 2012 has abs, Traction control, ride mode and at 10K that an ass ripping deal for a bike that weighs 200 lbs less than the Rocket with a 2 year warranty. And I can leave the wife at home!

Cheers!

YEP really a sport bike with higher bars and less HP but not a real comfy cruiser and expensive I tested one and its a muscle bike like the VMAX but not as fast I like the KAW ZX14 for $5000 less

ZX14 sells for 5K?...I am paying 10K for a 2012 with 0 miles and 2 year warranty. Torque is the same as the Diavel is 97/467-20.7 and R3 is 147/700=21 with diavel at 162 HP...seems a draw. Just saying its going to be more agressive in the twisties and the KBB is 13K on these so I am getting a steal and I am past my UBER NUTZ 929RR and R1 daze. My wife is going to kill me when I roll home with this one. BTW....The VMAX would go tumbling off into the woods in a one on one with the Diavel through Deals Gap.....This bike is perfect blend of toned down Superbike.

OH your buying a used Diavel for 10 k thats better but I can buy a leftover 2015 new ZX14 for 10 K but your Diavel 162 hp at the crank the Zx14 210 hp at the crank I like riding the 14 but I like my modded rocket better so I probably wont buy one BUT if you like the DUC buy it nice 2nd bike

Not sure an unregistered 0 mile 2012 with a full Ducati warranty merits being called used?
Just looking for a quick muscle bike with a warranty and this is the best price in the country.

Here it runs an 11 sec 1/4 against a VMAX

The salient question is HOW DOES A DUCATI DEALER STILL HAVE TWO UNREGISTERED ZERO MILE DIAVELS THAT ARE 4 TO 5 YEARS OLD?

Clearly you would not let them sit around the Ducati dealership for 5 years..Does anyone know how this happens..I have seen 2013 Fire blades offloaded in 2015 by a big Honda Dealer in TN.

Now I nave to decide Red or Black.....

And get the Rocket Running and on the Dyno again!

Cheers...Greg

I know you are probably not interest in my opinion, but the red/black looks really really nice! The black looks-well boring. The red/black has just the right amount of a red splashing, especially the red frame tubing. Of course my Rocket also has a splash of red, with the red racing stripes! Again my opinion, please don't hate me.

I'm going to guess that the previous owner beat the living $hit out of your Rocket and then you just happen to buy it!! Just a bit of bad luck. Once you get the rocket sorted out she will be a good bike for you!!

If not, I would buy a Japanese bike over a Diavel if your looking for reliability.
