Detention spring is probably the most minor trans fix, not too bad

It would certainly seem with modern CNC machining, and the super alloys of today, that trans problems would be a thing of the past. The Japanese got that chit worked out years ago. So did the auto industry (think Muncie rock crusher).

Can the detent spring affect only one gear? I guess the only way to check the spring is to bring the bike to a mechanic. Is it a lot of work to change it?

Maybe if it's weak and if you are changing gears at high rpm.
