Just found the most recent statistics on motorcycle thefts in the US. Triumph isn't listed in the top 15 marques - even behind a couple of Chinese scooter brands!

Total thefts, unfortunately, are trending upward -

Chinese scooters get boosted because they weigh nothing so they are easy to get. It's nothing to hotwire one, and with the scarcity of parts, a lot of them end up AS parts. And worst of all, they are ALL THE SAME!

I wonder if theft as a percentage of sales by brand would yield different results?

That was my first thought, but Hondas sell half of Harley, and are stolen twice as much. Seems much more related to all the factors mentioned so far.

I left my bike unattended for 2.5 hours at a Shopping center car park yesterday while i watched a movie , 1st time in the 3 years ive ever taken that risk , had a disk lock on and the Alrm was armed , but i spent the whole time hoping it was there when i got back , especially seeing as i dont have insurance due to riding DS
