FastFreight, you are correct. I saw the Yamaha version back in 1995 (I believe) at Sam's Motorcycles on Navy Boulevard here in Pensacola (now closed). It had the same front end, didn't ride it but now that you mention it, it probably did have the turning radius of a bus. Probably why the guy in the photos was not going to be doing any knee dragging any time soon...that muffler would be history.

Didn't Yamaha do a bike some years back that had that front swingarm configuration? As I recall the rap on it was that it had a turning radius like a bus.

Dennis,

I saw them in Albufeira, Portugal last Summer, when I went to see my favorite soccer team play in a pre-season warm up game.

At the time it struck me as rather bizarre that I hadn't seen one in years then I got to see two in less than a hour in different parts of town.

I'm not sure how well they sold when they were first introduced in the US. Maybe they had a bunch left over unsold and unloaded them in Portugal as a new model release???
