If that driver couldn't see him then that truck should not be on the road, because there was plenty of time for him to see. If the truck driver didn't see him because he wasn't looking where he was going then the driver shouldn't be on the road.
I've seen a couple articles about this pop up. There's apparently a lot of attention being directed to the design of the truck rather than the driver (from what I've seen).
All those mirrors on the right side makes the A pillar blind spot so much worse. The radius of his turn kept the m/c within the blind spot.
This happens a lot when a low wing aircraft turns towards their final approach to an airport. You can't see if any aircraft are making a straight in approach or coming in from an extended downwind leg.

well i believe if you do not know who is on final while turning base or final you should'nt be in the pilot seat period ! lots of things can be done if you are uncertain ! radio, extending downwind , banking and looking etc etc I only say so from 20 000hrs of flying experience just in case you may want to know
true but most plane have radio and broadcast their position and when you are downwind

I saw it happen at my local uncontrolled airport. A student in a 172 ran a really wide pattern making all the appropriate calls. A hotshot in a Pitts did a "Navy" approach. As the 172 crossed the threshold and touched down the Pitts was less than 10 ft away from landing on top of him. Me and another guy saw what was about to happen and sprinted out onto the apron trying to get the Pitts' attention and the FBO operator was screaming on the radio. At the last second the Pitts saw us and did a go around. The student in the 172 appeared to be oblivious to all of this.

a hotshot in a pitts special no wonder!!!! most pitts owner believe they are a breed apart and do not need to follow basic rules! I remember one landed behind me some years ago we had to do a mag check after landing ( DC-6)we told the tower "make sure he does not taxi to the pump from behind us" the bloke wanted to GET TO THE PUMP BEFORE US so he taxi his pitts behind us at 90 degres from our ass and get a blast of propeller wash the pitts did a roll and found his upper wing on the ground wheels in the air plus various damage, he sued the company but got thrown out of court later....... beware of pitts specials..and their pilots
