Back in July I had surgery on my right shoulder for a rotater cuff. They fixed the cuff and not the pain I was having. So they found a old football injury in my neck on my spinal cord and fixed it from paralyzing me back in November and fixed the carpul tunnel in my right wrist at the same time. But they have yet to fix what has been giving me the pain and problems. All they have done is fixed all the broke stuff they found hoping that was the cause of the problems I've been having. No such luck. So now after another round of test and MRI's they think they know what it is and they are going back in in 2 wks to remove 2 more disc in my lower neck and fuse them up. I will be down for 6 to 8 wks they tell me before I can go back to work and I haven't asked how long it will keep me off the bike.
So yesterday I picked up my Rocket that my son has had at his place since Nov. installing a new front tire. He and I rode about 50 miles and meet my other son and a friend for a great ride yesterday. This was the first time I have riding since last July before this whole ordeal started. It was great, I do believe this is the best time you can have with your clothes on. Rode for about 4 hours and 150 miles or so. I am going to try to ride every chance I get before this next surgery here in 2 weeks if my neck will hold up to it. I am even thinking of taking a weeks vacation before the surgery and do a few day trips before I go down again.
So wish me luck and good riding weather before they take me out of commission again.
Oh by the way, these Rockets are some running S O B's and I remember NOW why I bought one.
