1165 and Sorry

I got in 1165 miles this weekend. Sorry I got the voice mail late Steve and Katie, cell service is spotty in Pike County. Did the Red River Gorge and the Nada Tunnel, revisited some of the RAA V sites. Pounded Eastern Kentucky highways between visits with dad at the nursing home, and time with the Kentucky Woman . Life is good, time is short, I hate North Carolina and realized it when I hit I-40 at Winston Salem and ran the guantlet back to Raleigh. Two big bad wooly storms, rode through them even with the lightning, heavy rains and high winds. TDragger, thanks for the info you provided on the Dunlop front. I was running 70 in a torrential downpour with the new Dunlop front and Riken Raptor rear. No more "tracking" on asphalt seams and counter steer effort is way down compared to the Metzler front. No loss of traction with lots of water on the road, the Riken was pumping water out quite nicely. Very, very happy with this combo. The Metzler always gave me a sense of "push" when cornering, the Dunlop has enabled greater cornering ability and instilled a greater sense of confidence that was absent before.

Rocket performed flawlessly except for the paint can rattle..........................,still like the bike, hate Triumph corporate, and if there was a comparable bike out there I would be talking to that dealer. Can you hear me Triumph USA????/ It will be a cold day in Hades before I talk up the brand at the dealership again, sell your own bikes and conduct your own demo rides. Uncle Ozzy is rather disappointed after all of the years I put into riding these things, much like a bad wife, they let you down abruptly in the end and break your heart. Once bitten, twice shy.

Sorry about the bike trouble.

No trouble really, I just fail to feel sympathy for any company that does not stand behind it's product. To shirk responsibility in an attempt (IMHO) to avoid a nasty and costly recall or service bulletin is piss poor business especially when dealing with loyalists. If I wire your building and something does not work, or there is an issue with the quality of components, I shall not rest until you are satisfied, no matter how long it has been since I did the work. I do not sleep well if I think that what I have done in the past 38 years could cause loss of life or property. A timing gear failure is a pretty big deal, especially if I'm rolling at 85 mph down a mountain 4 lane and it decides to let go.Reckon I am just old Skool. I learned to laugh at the oil leaks of yesteryear, and the eccentricities of the Lucas wiring and the crap carbs, but this cam chain tensioner or lack there of is really getting on my nerves, can ya tell? I am not above showing up in Atlanta, will one of y'all bail me out, PLEASE. I know it's not much to make a federal case out of, it is just the fact that THEY refuse to acknowledge THEIR failure to design a functional, working, automatic cam chain tensioning device. Give me a manual option with service interval if ya can't pull your head out of your arse. Yes, I am pissed. I still like the bike, and that is why I am so pissed off. It's like building an M1 Abrams tank and putting a nylon gear for turning the gun turret. You hand paint the gold stripes, but you put crap in the motor, or using a model rocket motor to start the space shuttle, or..........., I guess that I'll pass on that Triumph wrist watch I've been looking at, it probably does not keep time either .

Yes, planning a bunch. Looking forward to it, perhaps I will have a passenger as well.

No Problem OZ me and Katie got in about 900 this weekend we were in the same area wish we could have hooked up.... I love my bike and at this point in time its part of the family and would not trade it for anything. But I hear you the switch issue is terrible and has been happening on all models for 2005 to current classic, standard, and touring wtf THEY NEED TO FIX THE ISSUE OR LOOSE BUSINESS....

I am done ranting now.........,.bet y'all are glad to hear that. I won't buy the watch though for the reason stated before . If I had a Goldwing I would be at the Wing Ding right now.
