  3. Triple filter noise???

Gentlemen and the 1 lady I once saw on an R3. I recently installed triple K&N air filters on my R3. I observed that the bike has now a special sound during acceleration, like a high speed popping sound like a machine opening many, many beer bottles at a high rate. :-). I am wondering if...
  4. Idle issues

"Kuss mich zwischen meinen beinen liebling" = German for: "Kiss me between my legs, darling!" :o)
  5. Idle issues

@ idk The error code for the bad installed TPS is "High Voltage or Short to Battery". That was the initial error they misinterpreted as an "open short". Grrrrrrrrrrr They did charge me a lot of money to release my bike after they screwed it up. Anyway . . . I did get the Tune ECU...
  6. Idle issues

Hello all! Thanks to all who gave me input on how to come up with possible solutions to my idle problems. It appears that the problem is solved and it had to do with the TPSs as you recommended. It sounded like a simple solution, but like a lot of things it turned into a nightmare. The...
  7. Idle issues

@ tripletrouble - I'm thinking about it. Sounds OK, especially the one on Ruzzle's picture! Yummy!
  8. Idle issues

I'll do just as you say! A new TPS it is. Of course the old lady will have a comment or two. I can already hear her: "Barbie needs more accessories! Nah, nah, nah" Grrrr. . . what can you do when you love em? Again, thanks for unanimous advise. When all of you say the same then one of...
  9. Idle issues

Will do! When done I'll let you know how it worked out. One would think that a dealer should know that. Nahh, maybe not!
  10. Idle issues

Hi all! I ride a '06 Rocket 3 Classic. Since last fall I am having problems with the idle on the bike. It's a strange thing and the 2 dealerships don't know what they are doing. So, I am appealing to the greater community for help! When I do a cold start, the engine revs up to ~1800RPM and...
  11. Toe, Heel gear shifter problem

I wear 12 1/2 engeneer boots. I tried to have the toes hanging off the board and if I had a good foot it would work. I had to have surgery in order to ride again and having the foot twisted out starts to get unconfortable after a surprising short time. I tried to push my boot in sideways...
  12. Toe, Heel gear shifter problem

+ Indie, thanks for the lead. The shifter looks nice, however Rivco warns not to use with the classic. What is this? A kind a Gordian Knot test and me being Alexander the Great! Well, no, certainly not Alexander, I'm just plain Great.
  13. Toe, Heel gear shifter problem

Tehehehe! You got that right. Never to old to appreciate a gentle curve or two..... or three! I've been thinking about investing in taller Progressives. I'll think about it again come April. Isn't it then when that curvature creature starts to repopulate the american street sceene? :P
  14. Toe, Heel gear shifter problem

I'm gonne check this out. Thanks!
  15. Toe, Heel gear shifter problem

You know, now that you mentioned it: The shifter on my BSA was a two part shifter. I forgot all about it. We had to adjust them whenever we reconfigured for race trim foot pegs. For you young guys... we didn't have the funds to own two bikes, one for the road and one for the track. So we...
  16. Toe, Heel gear shifter problem

I'll give this a try, except the thing with the brake pedal. I like to have all resources available at short notice. What you need is ABS :)
  17. Toe, Heel gear shifter problem

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. Cutting the rear pad won't do because I have a toe problem when I up shift. After a while I get so sore that riding loses all it's beauty.
  18. Toe, Heel gear shifter problem

I used to ride, way back when dinosaurs ruled the word, a BSA Gold Star that had a toe-heel shifter. In typical brit fashion it had the shifter on the wrong side just to be different. The foot rested on a regular peg and life was good. When I put down my cold hard cash for my current ride I...
