Help Lost baffle out of Jardine exhaust

I used part is something similar to that to make the flange on the end of the baffle I made. I appreciate you researching for me. I have the new baffle and the original baffle back in the pipes with new ceramic fiberglass and love the sound.

Help Lost baffle out of Jardine exhaust

Added a less than pretty bead of welp around one end to tack up the slack as my ring was 95mm rather than 98mm. It looks ugly but works and won’t be seen once installed

My welding skills would be admonished by Sonny but here is my final product prior to welding on the perforated tube and painting black with high temp paint along side the original

Help Lost baffle out of Jardine exhaust

Paul, I appreciate the offer. I have been playing around with the welder and angle grinder this weekend and think I have got this covered. I will post pictures soon of my handwork, shaping pipe into cone shape by cutting 16 slots was tedious but the results turned out well after welding and...

Help Lost baffle out of Jardine exhaust

Checked with Harley and most seemed to be for smaller pipes. They have 4” mufflers but have end caps and smaller baffles inside the end caps. Already started making my baffle, welded up the two end pieces today and waiting on my perforated metal to arrive on Wednesday. Took some 2” and 2.5”...

Help Lost baffle out of Jardine exhaust

I think I will try to weld up one from scratch using the other baffle as a template, hardest part will be making the swagged end that interfaces with pipe at front of muffler as I don’t have any Madrid’s to expand pipe. Local muffler shops no help, nobody seems to know how to form pipe anymore...

    TORQUE SPECS CAM COVER ??

Those are same as all the other bolts, do they have the vanity chrome plugs stuck in top of bolt? If so flip them off with small flat blade screwdriver

    TORQUE SPECS CAM COVER ??

Just remember to tighten them in stages, I did mine at 2NM per stage. That way the gasket does not squeeze out when you tighten the bolts, it took a few more minutes to complete but no leaks after. I used a gear works digital torque wrench for the job

    Sissy bar

Very hard to find now. Most old stock already gone last year, need to look at eBay, this forum or out of USA. I have found parts in Chek republic and other Eastern European location by searching the web. Also Mitzi and Ishrub in this forum can help but they are both down under

Rocket 3 for moderately experienced rider?

My R3 was my first bike after a 5 year brake from a Yamaha VS1100. I had no problem getting used to the roadster and very quickly learnt how to handle all that torque. I waited a month before taking pretty pillion out for rides. I found best improvement that made the ride more nimble was Avon...

    Dealership question

Cars are totally different, they are delivered to dealership fully assembled ready to go. Motorcycles are crated and require the dealerships least skilled mechanic to assemble them and make sure he did everything correct with no one doing a QC control afterwards.

    Yet another headlight mystery...

Key switch. I think it is white wire that comes off due to too much current flowing through solder joint

What did you do to your Rocket today?

Looks good, how do you plan to protect the painted edge when you change tires, or are you planning to touch up after?
