  1. Avon's ( OOOH NO ANOTHER TYRE THREAD !!!!!!!)

I just replaced the front metz with an avon for the same uneven and extreme wear reasons. First impressions are that it's good and sticky, but I don't ride them too hard. Hopefully they last more than 3k miles.
  2. Nothing hurt but my pride.

You've got a lovely and understanding wife. I cannot say mine would be so forgiving if I dumped her. She might make sure the bike has some damage to match my wounded pride! :)
  3. Well, it had to happen I guess...

Rite of passage, brother! Same thing for me: sharp turn in my driveway on day 1 and it just tipped over to land ever so gently on the side rail. I'm pretty good at lifting, but it took a good strategy to get it back up on my own. Well done. If you don't fail, you're not trying!
  4. R3T Front tire not centered

I guess the lesson here is : duck metz. And by duck I don't mean duck.
  5. R3T Front tire not centered

That's a good question. I like what they have to say about the Michelins, but was are the effects of going with a narrower tire? I'd rather go larger if necessary since I'm not really concerned about being too nimble.
  6. R3T Front tire not centered

Triumph dealer tells me that it is typical for tires to wear unevenly, and that the wheel not being centered is not uncommon and not a problem. He did say that 3700 miles is too short a time for such dramatic wear. Not sure what they are going to do about that, but I need a new tire in any...
  7. R3T Front tire not centered

Rather sure. Aside from the lack of any wobble up to 100 mph, I rolled it a few feet and re measured with the same result. From what I can tell it seems to be perpendicular with the road. If the forks were uneven would that definitely produce some wobble? I'd think it would be pretty obvious...
  8. R3T Front tire not centered

After noticing that the front tire is wearing significantly more on the right side (down the the tread after 3600 miles) I took it upon myself to measure the space between the rim and the center of the fork on each side. It turns out that there is a 10mm difference between the left and right (80...
  9. Honda Valkyrie

I actually tested a new valk before settling on the rocket. It is quick and nice, but really more of a sport bike than cruiser. I love the riding position of the touring. Valk was comfy, but not right. All in all, it's a nice bike. Small, but nice. :)
  10. droan?

I've got a 2015 touring too, and I hear that on leans as well. I had just figured it was the newer sides of the tires getting excited at a chance to touch the road. Don't see any damage to the rear. My front is over-worn on the right side, but I hear it leaning either way so that's another story...
  11. Uneven wear metzeler

The front (original) tire (metzler) on my 2015 touring, after 3600 miles, is worn down to the grooves on the right side, and basically pristine on the left. Rear is nice and even though. This is a problem with the tire itself? Could something out of alignment be doing this? I've still got the...
  12. VIDEO | Ran accross this accident on freeway this memorial day weekend | Tell me your thoughts

Dedicated alcoholism takes a lot of hard work. You've got to make sure you've got hard liquor on hand all the time in case sobriety starts to creep in.
  13. VIDEO | Ran accross this accident on freeway this memorial day weekend | Tell me your thoughts

As others have said, there's a trooper/cop there already, which means an ambulance is on its way. Unless the victim/bystander ratio is less than 1:1, no need for more people to stop and muddle things up more. That just ties up more traffic and creates the potential for more collisions. Also...
  14. I know I'm a sign nut.

Well, that's just mean. He was only high on drugs. :)

  16. Coolant

This is what I'm hoping. Good to hear this isn't an isolated thing. It is a 2015 touring. Just got it last October, 3.3k miles. **** well not be anything fatigued!!!
  17. Coolant

I'm presuming the coolant level should be checked when hot, although the manual does not say so. However I am puzzled because for the last 3k miles the coolant was in the good range when cold and all was well. However last week I went out in around 90 degree heat and coolant was running out the...
  18. BUGS!!

I think the new england bugs are eating gravel. I'm getting gouges in my helmet visor :(
