  1. Do I have the Roadster screen?

The shifter is a ratchet mechanism, and it should return to the same orientation after each shift. You should not have to move the shifter at all, except to make the shifts up and down. After any shift, the shifter should return to the same position it was in before you made the shift. Are you...
  2. Do I have the Roadster screen?

The Summer Screen has three bolts across the top, and the Roadster screen has five bolts. I have the Roadster Screen, and the Triumph lowers made all the difference in the world. I also put a Laminar Lip on the top of the windshield, which did help to a degree. I think I will eventually go with...
  3. Classic Pics

Make that 4 for 4! I absolutely love that combination, especially on the one in my garage.
  4. From the land of potatos!

Alister, I didn't read this thread until this morning. You are the first Idaho R3 owner I have seen on this forum, and I was beginning to think I would never see another Rocket on the road around here. I live in Eagle, and I have had my Classic for about 10 months. We should try to arrange a...
  5. Rate Your Dealer

It is very difficult for me to rate my dealer, because I have had a mixed experience. The sales part of my Rocket adventure was a mess. The salesman screwed up the paperwork and had to do it twice. It has been almost a year, and I never got my set of the paperwork, even after several phone...
  6. Lowers And More...

I hate to say it, but Will is kind of a tramp and doesn't mind the adding and removing...
  7. Lowers And More...

I have never seen their products for sale any place except directly from the manufacturer. In my case, the service was fast and the packaging was good. Here is their web site, and their are a number of pictures of bikes with the Laminar Lip installed: http://www.laminarlip.com/
  8. Throttle Meister question

The Throttlemeister web site gives a description of how it works, including a statement about a piston pushing against the throttle tube. It does not seem to make the function any more clear, but have a look on the how it works link: http://www.throttlemeister.com/tm.html
  9. Lowers And More...

I will try to post some pictures, if I can figure out the procedure.
  10. Lowers And More...

Last summer, when I bought the R3, I put on a Roadster Screen, but I really wasn't too concerned about wind protection at that point. When it started to get cool last fall, I added a Laminar Lip to the top of the screen, and it moved the turbulence to the top of my head. I still had some...
  11. Great NW

Glad to see another Rocket in the Pacific Northwest! I agree that a Rocket draws a lot of attention. Last summer in Oregon, I drew a small crowd while at a swap meet, and I had to do a little presentation of what the bike is, how big it is, etc. I sure hope I see you on the road.
  12. Classic English Bike?!?!?!?!?

All the talk about British bikes takes me back to my BSA Lightning, which I thought I would ride for the rest of my life. That didn't work out, but I held my dream of owning a BSA Rocket III, which also didn't work out. It is kind of funny that I replaced the Lighting with a Triumph...
  13. Just bought an R III

I have a Red and Creme '06 Classic, and I absolutely love it. It is just now warm enough where I live to get more than a few miles from home, and I was able to get her out this past weekend. It was just as exciting as the day I pulled away from the dealer. I wish I could see the look on your face!
  14. MAC Bike Lift

So, is it OK to lift a rocket on the bottom of the engine? I have a great lift that I have used on my HD for a long time, but it lifts on the Harley's frame, not the engine. I have been wondering about this topic for a while, because I am planning to use the cold weather to do a detailed...
  15. Trunks

Leatherlyke has the large trunk with and without a built-in backrest, so you can mount it with or without the sissy bar. I am leaning toward the one without the backrest. I haven't been able to look at one yet, but I am confident you could come up with hardware that would let you remove it...
  16. "A good day Tater"

T-Day Rocket III Your thread was so amazing for me, I had to post a response. I got up this morning to help my wife with the Thanksgiving preparation, and wound up watching her work while I surfed with my laptop for new stuff for the Rocket. I went back to this site to look for some information...
  17. Forum Aliases

As already mentioned in this thread, nick-names should be given to you by others. My story is not as pretty as some of the others, though. A lot of years ago, I was a single biker who went to every bike run I could find. I was not always particular about who I picked for company on the runs, and...
  18. Fuel Light

When I first got my Rocket, the fuel light came on after one gallon of fuel had been used. When I took it to the dealer for the first service, they did something to adjust it (my dealership is very short on information). Now the light comes on when I have about two gallons left. I figure I have...
  19. Leatherlykes

I haven't seen any sign of breakage yet, but I will sure keep a watch on them. Thanx for the info. I am seriously considering the Leatherlyke trunk, but I don't think I would do it if the saddlebags are going to break frequently. Has anyone seen a picture of the front of the new trunk? I would...
  20. Am I the oldest Rocket Rider?

So Young! It is comforting to see there are so many old guys in this forum. I have always found that the old riders have wonderful experiences, advice and knowledge to share with youngsters. I turned 55 the end of last month, so I must be at least a couple of decades younger than many of you...
