  1. Triumph Quit Ignoring Your Ignition Problems

Just get the Eastern Beaver relay and you will be done with your ignition problem. I put it off for months on my R3 as I was not having any problems. And then one morning....nothing when I went to get on it. Installed the EB relay, not a problem since. It is by far the easiest turnkey...
  2. White rockets.

Yes...seen most of them as I live in DFW and drop by Stroker's once in a while. Honestly, I think most of Fairless' bikes are very cheezy looking and I would not be seen on one. But...he's made a nice living doing these bikes, has a nice shop and bar/grill to visit and hang out at...so...
  3. Solid White R3 w/Tour Box

While participating in the Big Texas Toy Run in DFW this past Saturday, I saw a SOLID WHITE R3 parked in the Lone Star track parking lot that had a tour box installed on the luggage rack. I have been looking for a tour box that would work with my Corbin bags (due to the Corbin bag lids opening...
  4. 2003 Vulcan vs 2012 R3R

All is good here. :D And I agree with TriumPhil...its not what you ride, but THAT you ride And Canberra...no worries. As I tried to get through in my post...it's not so much the actual bike itself, but the recurring problems that Triumph should have taken care, will not take care of, or...
  5. 2003 Vulcan vs 2012 R3R

Hey Canberra...I think you misinterpreted what I was saying. If you read my post again, I did not bash the bike....I actually said I like the bike very much. My inference was to the very common recurring issues that are well documented on this very forum and that I myself have experienced...and...
  6. 2003 Vulcan vs 2012 R3R

I currently own a R3 Classic, and love the bike. Prior to purchasing the Rocket, I owned a Vulcan 1600 Classic which to this day is the best (and favorite) bike I've owned. Why? Primarily due to the comfort and dependability of the Vulcan. Had it for almost 7 years...never in the shop once...
  7. Is performance synonymous with loud?

It sounds like the prior owner of your bike removed the CAT and installed the CAT bypass (referenced on the forum as "CAT delete", which GREATLY increases the loudness of the TORS pipes. A cheap solution to quieten your bike down may be to reinstall the CAT CONV instead of changing exhaust...
  8. Trouble Reaching Turn Signal Switch

Perhaps activate the turn signal BEFORE depressing the clutch...??
  9. WTB dual longhaul seat

Well...when I opened the forum it did not come up under the "Touring" forum...just under new posts. However, if anyone else is interested in the Classic/Standard seat I described, just PM me and we can talk.
  10. Time for a new Helmet

SHARK EVOLINE! I have never been much a helmet-wearer (although I have several), but about a year ago a friend was involved in a wreck that changed my mind. I was looking for a helmet that offered the protection of a full-face, but with the comfort of a half helmet or open-face. After much...
  11. WTB dual longhaul seat

Would it be for a Touring model or Standard/Classic R3? If for a standard/Classic, I may have one available for sale. I am considering purchasing a Russel seat, so if interested, let me know. It is currently on an 06 Classic (but will fit all models except the Touring and Roadster models), is...
  12. Local qualified Triumph mechanic

$200 for an oil change?? Can you stand up straight yet, or are you still bent over? I'm surprised, I've had work done at the Austin Triumph/BMW dealer before and found them "reasonable", albeit a bit on the high side. I just had my oil changed at Eurosport in Ft Worth for $110.... Not sure...
  13. Best Battery

+1 on the Scorpion battery. Went through 3 different batteries in the past year, and the Scorpion is clearly the best choice. The bike has fired up strongly each and every time...even when temps have been at their coldest here.
  14. Cup Holder for the Rocket

That's what I've been looking for, as my bars are too cluttered already to add a drink holder. Can you provide more info on the make/manufacturer of the holder you have? Thanks!
  15. Passenger Footboards

I second the Rivcos and relocation brackets. Put them on my bike a few months ago, and the wife loves them.
  16. Great deal!

I know...very tempting...I live in Ft Worth and am considering buying them and putting them up for sale separately if no one else jumps on them.
  17. Great deal!

Just came across this listing on Craigslist...brand new Triumph bags (says never installed) AND backrest/luggage rack for Rocket...all for $425.00 I've already got bags and backrest, but this looks like a fantastic price if anyone is interested. Here's the link Triumph Rocket III, Saddle...
  18. Progressive 440 Install

When I installed my 440's recently, I raised the bike slightly off the ground with my Harbor Freight lift, then placed a block underneath the sidestand (kickstand) that left the bike tilted every so slightly to that side. I was able to pull and re-install the shocks very easily and the bike was...
  19. Lower Air Deflector question...

Does the Triumph Lower Air Deflector kit #A9748046 require the purchase and use of the Triumph front-end fixing kit #A9738051 to install the lowers? I am going to purchase some lowers for cool temp riding, and thought the deflector kit contained the clamps to install the lowers. However, in...
  20. Great price on TORS....

The TORS are best with the CAT removed...loudness quotient of bike goes up about 200% with the TORS and bypass...:D
