    R3GT/R Windscreens - A Review of Three

I used a strip of 1/2” aluminum flat stock that was about 1/8” thick and I bent the ends to about 90 degrees. The top attaches to the top two fasteners on the inner screen (I bent that end to an angle so it was flush to the curve of the screen and used longer fasteners to accommodate the added...

    R3GT/R Windscreens - A Review of Three

I’m 6’ and have used (see previous posts) the Powerbronze PowerBlade screen for almost two years - traveled 10,000 miles with it installed and like it a lot, both functionally and aesthetically. I did fabricate add two aluminum support brackets at the top of the inner shield to make it more...

    IXIL Exhaust

As mentioned, if you use your bags at all, this exhaust will fry the right side bag straight away.

    Front Brake Clicking Noise

My R3GT with 9k on the clock has started doing this - to the point I can not only hear it, but I can feel it through the handlebars. Happen nearly every time I come to a stop and I can reproduce it by rocking back and forth while applying the front brake. Very disconcerting, but evidently very...

    IXIL Exhaust

Some of the pics on their USA web site show the bike with the bags. The exhaust points right at the bottom of the bag maybe 3-4 inches away. Seems like the bag will be cooked straight away. I’m hoping someone who has bought the exhaust will post something about that.

    IXIL Exhaust

Anyone have any experience with or knowledge about the EXIL exhaust for the R3GT/R. It looks and sounds very good, but I’m not familiar with the company. The $ on their web site is $1100.

    10K Maintenance Questions

For those with R3GT/Rs who have changed their air filter at 10K miles - was it necessary (e.g. was it dirty enough to warrant the work and expense)? Also, I seem to remember seeing something here (pictures and such) on lubricating the rear wheel outer roller bearing, but I can't find it. Any...

    Tire Sizes

For U.S. riders. . . OEM rear tires for the R3GT/R is a 240 50 x 16. Has anyone substituted a 55 profile tire for the OEM 50 tire? And if so, is there a noticeable difference in height. It appears the 55 profile tires are a lot less expensive and more available. The only 240 50 x 16 tire I...

Solo Rider Seat with Pillian Infill

The infill piece is actually straightforward and not a problem. Everything comes with the piece from Triumph. The more complex part is if you've removed the GT backrest and want to replace that with the metal strips (like on the R). That requires two purchases/part numbers - the metal top...

    Flyscreen options?

Yes, the Puig fly screen is nice (I have one). It's a different shape, but about the same size as the OEM GT screen - a little wider, but no taller. And yes, it doesn't provide much wind protection, if any. I've grown to really like my PowerBronze PowerBlade screen system, which provides good...

    Solo comfort seat?

The fastback portion of the Corbin seat is NOT a passenger seat. It's just an extension that slopes down to meet the fender - more of an esthetic sort of thing.

    Solo comfort seat?

Search for Corbin Gunfighter - there are several that will answer your question. Short answer is yes - Corbin.

    Corbin Gunfighter

My Gunfighter fits perfectly. I had to flex it a little to get the two OEM side trim pieces to fit, but the bumpers line up and it sits well. I've ridden about 8000 miles on the seat and for me, it's very comfy.

    Speedometer Calibration

When new, my 21 GT was consistently 5 mph off at all speeds, and now, at 8000 miles, it’s still 5 mph off with the same tires.

    Speedometer Calibration

I noticed the same thing when I bought my 21 GT and asked the dealer’s service/part guy about it and was told that there’s no adjustment/fix for the speedometer. He thought the odometer to be correct. My speedometer is a consistent 5 mph off at all speeds, so it’s a pretty easy mental adjustment...

    Rear Wheel Roller Bearing Lube

Thanks for the good information. It appears that I'll need to buy an oil seal as part of this process. Thanks again.

    Madstad windscreen

I bought one some time ago and installed it and rode with it for several hundred miles and decided I didn't like it - mostly the look of it on the bike and secondarily it really didn't provide the wind protection I wanted, so. . . I went with the Powerbronze Power Blade screen(s) and like it a...

    Rear Wheel Roller Bearing Lube

Listed on the maintenance schedule as part of the 10K service is lubing the "rear wheel roller bearing (left hand side outer)". Has anyone done that, or is there a YouTube video or any other resource, other than a shop manual, readily available that shows how to do that?
