Well he sold the blooming thing and bought a R1200RS! So sadly I don't know, but since i had no problems staying on his number plate before i can only assume it would be faster above 5000rpm to redline..

Penners is a star! Nope 147mph isnt when i am at the TT or touring through Germany on the autobahns:) Particularly when i am trying to keep up with my mate on his BMW S1000r. And besides it should be my choice i paid for the bike!

Update on tire wear on the 2020 Rocket

Nope, its no joke. Just about all motorcycles manufacturers do this, not just Triumph. Its very common practice.. Look at Ryan F9's channel on youtube, he goes over it. (as mentioned above..) Also i measured the front cobra chrome when new and it was 4mm, i haven't bought a new one yet so i...

Flat out in 4th will get you to around 130mph indicated.... mine and i assume everyone else's, is "restricted" to a top speed of 147mph indicated. It Rockets(!) up to 147mph then you can really feel the throttles close and it wont go 1mph faster...grrrrr Mine does have Penners map on so i guess...

Update on tire wear on the 2020 Rocket

This refers to the difference between OEM (Triumph) cobra chrome when new and an aftermarket cobra chrome tyre over the counter. You never get as much depth when on the tyres when the bike is new, i guess manufacturers save on less rubber.

that as well i guess..... i don't know why Triumph do it, i guess its a bit like BMW limiting their cars to 155mph. Its all very annoying, i wished they wouldn't.

"It would be fun to know which useless part exactly caused the speed to be limited to this 225km/h, or if that's an engine/transmission hard limit." ECU, ECU, ECU!!! Lol Well having looked at a recent video it accelerates from 80mph to 147mph in around 10 seconds, so its still not properly fast...

Where is everyone getting their insurance from..and are they insisting on a tracker?

Where is everyone getting their insurance from..and are they insisting on a tracker?

Gents be careful when picking a tracker... I got the oxford tracker and was told that it recorded journey length and overall time. It doesnt! it has a VERY detailed web interface and in the terms and conditions Tracker will happily roll over and give up your data to the police and your...

    TuneECU

I wouldnt want to go over the 149mph personally... Tyres are rated as follows, just for info: How is the speed rating calculated? Speed ratings are based on laboratory tests in which the tyre is run at 6.2 mph steps, in 10 minute increments, until the required speed has been met. To receive its...

    TuneECU

MCN tested the 2020 rocket 3 and found using gps that they are restricted to 138mph true speed. Hopefully "Penners" map gets past that but its worth remembering the tyres are only "V" rated, which is 149mph!

I would get battery load tested. It sounds like its on its way out..... not sure if that would cause stalling though.
