    Its always pinged as it cooled for me. Take the cover off and make sure where its attached to the header is still tight. Check all the mounting bolts. Thats really all that could come loose.

    Hiding the gas and other displays on the side of display is a feature you can turn on and off. You should be able to make it show perminently also.

    If you are in the states u can service it your self while under warranty. Oil is a pretty easy job and their are videos along with free pdf down loads of the service manual you can follow. If you are moderatly handy you shoukd be able to accomplish an oil and air filter change

    You can see if the thread pitch is correct by placing the new screw ontop of one of the original screws if you have one. They should interlock and have no gaps. If it shows a gap than its not correct. You could heli coil it if you need new threads or use a keensert if you have enough room for...
