    Electronics Question

I have installed a MC Cruise Control on my 2014 R3T. I have also installed a Smart Brake Module, from the Smart Turn System company, which flashes the brakes when using engine braking to let the drivers behind me know that I am slowing down. The problem I am having is that the SBM is sensing...

    Tire wear

I was able to change my front tire of the Nomad, but that rear one was impossible for me. The rear MCII was so stiff, I could not get it off/on. Lube, zip ties, long irons, made no difference. I really do not have room in my garage for a tire changing machine like the no mar or the like. I was...

Throttle Adjustment Question after installing MC Cruise Control

Thanks motolink. There is so much information that comes with the cruise control. I will go through it again and see what I can find. I had a cruise control that came with my previous bike, an 09 Kawasaki Nomad. That spoiled me. I am looking forward to this one.

    Tire wear

Did you do the tire yourself or have someone do it for you? If someone did it for you, who was it?

Throttle Adjustment Question after installing MC Cruise Control

Motolink, I did the adjustments per pages 49 & 50 of the manual. I also backed off the carburetor cable into the CIU just past where the idle drops to normal. I then screwed the adjusters on the throttle all the way in. I then started screwing out the two adjusters of the cables at the throttle...

Throttle Adjustment Question after installing MC Cruise Control

Finished installing MC Cruise control on 2014 R3T this evening. Started the bike up and the throttle was way high. I had backed out the "Carburetor Cable" way out of the CIU in order to adjust the freeplay in the throttle without having to screw the throttle adjuster almost all the way out when...

Friend of mine is no more

What an honor to be the lead bike. Kudos to the brother for extending this honor. The most common analogies for grief are it can come in like a wave or it can be like a roller coaster. We can be going along OK, and then a wave comes in, or the roller coaster goes through an unexpected drop...

Sorry for your loss Sonny. Tell the stories. It will help you heal. Laugh, cry. It all helps.

    Summer ride in Florida

I agree with the heat and humidity comments. I am a daily rider so regardless I am out in it. As long as I am moving it is OK. If I am on a pleasure ride on the weekend, the earlier the start, the better. Start by 7 am and be done by noon and a good ride can be had by one and all.

IronButt Kansas City to New York

Sounds like you have your bases covered. I enjoy being on the bike & seeing new places. Last summer went from where I live in Florida to where my daughter & her husband live in Salt Lake City, Utah. Got my BBG along the way. Did a 200+ mile ride around SLC through Utah, Wyoming, & Colorado...

IronButt Kansas City to New York

If you are doing this for Iron Butt Association certification, be sure to check their website for info on how to document your ride. I have used a site called spotwalla.com to track my progress on rides to help with the documentation of the ride. I loaded an app on my phone and it sent the data...

Trouble shifting from neutral to first when @ rest.

I have found that if I want to put the bike in neutral while sitting at a light, I have to do the following: with my toe under the shifter and applying some light pressure to the shifter, I ease out the clutch, then when the bike begins to roll forward, I pull in the clutch, and the transmission...

    Had a nice ride today

Took picture of what was scraping on the right side. Could not see any scraping on the left side. Old scrape where finger is pointing is the floor board bracket. Long silver scrape is what the controls are attached to.

    Had a nice ride today

Rode out of the rain shortly after I left your place. Took rain overgloves off when I stopped for lunch. Being typical Florida summer, there was a little rain cloud waiting for me as I approached my house. I had ridden around several other rain clouds that like to chase bikers in the summer...

    Bike down deer dead.

That is what I suspected looking at the map. Thanks. That does look like the kind of curve which could easily bite someone not expecting it.

    Had a nice ride today

I met Fingers for the first time and had a nice, 236 mile ride. In trying to keep up with him on some nice sweepers, hard bits were touching down. Need to find out what they were. He thinks the difference is his Progressive 444 shocks. In any event had a nice ride with a nice guy. Even had me...
