No, because the extension cable will have both of the old style connectors and still won't fit the new switch

If you look at my picture, it has old-style male (same as on your 'old' key-switch to plug into your 'old' harness) and has new style female, to plug directly into your 'new' key-switch

(I could make you a converter cable for plug n play if you didn't want to cut & splice? - or make it yourself using the 'adapter' that comes with the kit you bought - just cut those butt splices off and crimp on terminals for the OEM connector I linked earlier in the thread)
