  • I'm looking at fitting a supercharger, I'd be interested in your views on it. What are the pros & cons, performance, fuel & any adverse effect on engine parts with increased power. Any help would be appreciated.

The supercharger is great all around fun. Make sure you get it tuned to the specific octane you going to use. You might loose a little power if you tune it to a lower octane but it will not be noticeable. I think it is a good all around fun power build for the street as you have much more low end torque to play with.
I am investigating repairing the rocket back to stock and sell it on. With the money considering a supercharger or turbo. For my original rocket. Thanks for the connection for the upgrade kit from Andy it arrived already.
Gid aye Mate . We spoke last week about my second rocket I'm repairing the internal shifter bolt loosened.i m hoping you have experience cracking the cases. Is it possible to drop the clutch and swing arm drive line to split the lower case and access the shifter shaft with the motor still in the frame.

Hey bud I have never seen anyone try this before. I would have to look but my first thought it the output drive that will give you grief as you have to at least pick/tilt the frame up off the motor to get it out. That being said I would say no because then you would have to put the motor mounts back in after you pull the drive and then try to drop everything and the transmission shafts.

I must say I did not even know about this profile posting page :) I like your idea of a SC or turbo but myself I would still keep the other Rocket if possible. But then I am a nutter :)
I had more to add but was unaware of the limit here. Wonder about adjusting the throttle stop screw also as when its warm the idle isnt all that high. I dont have any tech equipment. I have viewed steppermotor movement when key is turned on. I have a guy who has been a tech all his life says he thinks he could fix it so I think I wiil have him look at it. Would you be willing to email me if I sent you mine. Al
    Hi Warp
I have read quite a bit about this high idle thing. You seem to be very knowlegable of these bikes. So if you dont mind I would like to pick your brain with some direct posts here. I read here where one guy just adjusted his stepper motor nut off a little and the problem has not reoccured.. Im also wondering if there is any of the black internal TPS left in the parts bins. Mine was just replaced again in Sept
Hello, I'm a newby. Bought a bike that Bob Carpenter had in his shop. '08 with 210 kit, his pipe and only 29 miles on it. I'm looking to add an air filter as Bob removed the plenum and snorkel so I'm running without until I add one. Steel said you used a Pipercross, but I've searched your posts and have not found one showing how you did it I would love your input. Bruce

Also looking at Uni, but the ones Nev recommends seem to only be available down under. Steel said the Pipercross setup is good for 300 HP, but will it fit under the bearclaw? (That's what I would prefer)

Hey bud sent you a message with Piper cross information and since you want to keep a full bear claw I sent you pictures of the ITG JCS12 filters I bought to try out. I did not see a way to post pictures on this profile comment plus there were quite a few I stuck in the message
