MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

Hi, Mr. Turbo has it right. There is no idle stepper at all. The owner passed on a few years ago and it is his son who I am now dealing with, so, little or no info as to its history. But, I do recall that there were cases of a problem with the idle stepper unit hanging and holding the...

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

OK, really, thanks for all your input. I'll give a summary of where I'm at right now. First, TuneECU needs (a lot of) familiarisation before using!!! Must admit, I dived in and am learning on the job. Thankfully, time is not an imperative with this one. At some time within the last four...

    Gearbox repair?

As per request, photo of the gear lever / linkage. You can see the equidistant hole opposite the mounted linkage......

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

Reading the sticky posted by Skillilo regarding the TPS. Seems I am in the same territory. How can dealers ask £130 for what is nothing more than a rotary volume control!!! However, I think I might have a more fundamental problem. When adjusting throttle body balance, I can get cyls, 2 and...

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

Hi all and thanks 'bigly' for all the help. Replacement MAP fitted, still throwing fault code. Turned out that one of the connector pins was very dirty on the MAP, a good clean restored harmony, fault code cleared. (Used part, but it works). Throttle balance readings off the map, no wonder...

    Gearbox repair?

After looking through some photos I'd better clarify that this is a heel and toe gear lever with a linkage up to the gearbox input shaft.

    Gearbox repair?

Hi. It is the 2005. Waiting for the MAP to arrive then I'll be back to it. Photos to follow. Cheers

    Gearbox repair?

Hi all. I have another thread regarding this one about the MAP sensor, but I have another question for the collective. This had the failing fourth gear problem, went away to have it sorted. Came back and all seemed well.... except the gear change was reversed, up for first down for the rest...

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

Thanks, that's cleared that little puzzle up. Daft idea! Although, I admit, mea culpa for not clearly marking things when I disconnected, (Needed the airbox system off to attach the vacuum hose to cyl. 3)

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

Hi. No stepper motor. Lord knows what has happened in the five years since I last saw this one. A lot of things I've found to be less than optimal, looses hose clamps on the TB's etc.

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

Hi. I'm using the PC version of tuneECU, not seen that page, but still finding my way around.

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

Thank you very much for that! As I said, there are two connectors on this loom, both in very close proximity to the MAP. Guessing I chose wrong! Hopefully that has caused the MAP to fail.

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

Not at the bike for few days until MAP sensor arrives, will do a fuller report then Cheers

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

year is 2005. Popping from the exhaust, tickover is stumbling which it would if the MAF/ Pressure sensor is faulty. It just seems strange that tuneECU is now reporting short/open circuit MAP / pressure sensor with all the vacuum hoses now connected but not before with cyl. 3's hose...

MAP and or Air Pressure sensor fault

Hi all Potted summary. First saw this five years ago, owner fitted straight through pipes, cat delete. At some point it has had the idle control removed and sets tickover by the throttle stop screw. Used TuneECU to load appropriate map, all well. He rode it but the dreaded gearbox issue...
