    2005 Rocket III For Sale

Thanks for the info. The TPS seems to be the concensus. It's now at another dealership. It has been in the shop literally all summer. I'm beyond being mad about it. Fortunately I have several other bikes so I haven't missed any riding. I have a Yamaha FZ1 that is bulletproof. I change the oil...

    2005 Rocket III For Sale

If I shut the engine off then restart it, it will settle down to a normal idle. After a few minutes it starts doing it again. It will run anywhere from about 1500 to 2000 rpm. Thanks for the reply!

    2005 Rocket III For Sale

Thanks Warp for the info. If I knew of a capable mechanic I'd have it done. I'm not comfortable doing more than oil changes! It is a beast for sure, I'm just really frustrated with it.

    2005 Rocket III For Sale

I have a nearly mint 2005 Rocket with all Triumph accessories including windscreen, soft bags, fog lights, heated grips, running boards, luggage rack, sissy bar and maybe a few things I'm forgetting! It is a very nice bike. The tires have about 3000 miles on them. Now for the bad, I have...

    Throttle Position Sensor Help

1K9, after I read your comments yesterday I went back to re-read warps post. The one thing I missed was spraying inside the boot on the stepper motor. Lo and behold after I did that (queue hallelujah chorus) I took it out for a 40 mile ride and it ran like a champ. Thanks to both of you for...

    Throttle Position Sensor Help

Warp, many thanks for the very detailed information. I will try this before I take it to a shop. This bike sat in a garage for a long time before I purchased it so I'm sure there is some corrosion on contacts and some drying out rubber parts.

    Throttle Position Sensor Help

My recently purchased 2005 Rocket has developed a problem that sounds like a throttle position issue. I purchased the bike with 10,000 miles on it back in February and have since put on another 4,000. A couple of weeks ago I noticed while cruising along at about 2500 rpm it started to feel...

Thanks rainman. I get down from Ohio to your state at least once a year, usually more. I'm planning a trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway this fall with an overnight stay in Waynesville before turning north.

Many thanks for all the warm welcomes. I'm surprised by all the folks from the Land Down Under, makes me want to go there more than ever! Now I have that song stuck in my head from Men At Work!

Scot, thanks for the welcome. I've sort of assumed it was referred to as a Classic but maybe not. It's a 2005, so it's whatever they were called! It's the bike on my avatar. Thanks again.

Please allow me to introduce myself....

I've been riding since the early seventies and loving every minute I'm on a bike. I picked up a very low mileage 2005 R3 Classic a couple of months ago. The Ohio weather hasn't been very conducive to riding so far this year but I have managed to get about 1000 miles on the Rocket. What a bike...
