Worn Sidewall

just got the new Fedral Darkside mounted and just put the wheel back in and greased the splines on the drive shaft while I was at it the Toyo which had a wear rating of 280 gave me 16,000klm and griped well in all conditions, it will be interesting to see how klm's I get out of this even stickierFederal tyrewhich has a rating of 260, probaly less klm's but more grip and that will be a good thing:D

yeah pretty bad eh My point I have tried to make time and time again ride the damm thing till you are scraping your pegs, stop check the sidewall and adjust, sure I could of just keep it the tire pressure to low and showed every body how I had worn out the sidewall but I tested, analised the the outcome, modified the pressure. you might have to do it a few times, hell I changed my pressure 6 times before I found my sweet pressure but as evident by the picture the fine writing which would be the first to go is still there.

By the way Hellfire what is the wear rating on your BF and what ya reckon! that's a nice open tthred pattern on the federal eh.
geez the only ***** part of running a 245 is getting the wheel back in but with a bit on twisting and shoving the tyre past the swingarm and the drive unit it does go in:D then you have the fat bottom girl mama HD killer. Pissing down rain at the moment so will test the traction out in safer condition the mtn gets really greasy in the wet they are always pullin car idiots back up on to the road up there and it's a long way down the wrong way:eek:

Can easily see the lower profile too. Have fun keeping your front wheel on the ground mate... :D Go easy on that mountain.

It will interesting to see how the Federal goes as the Toyo wear rating 280 traction AA and temp A, the federal is : wear rating 260 but the traction is only A, temp A, I would have thought the traction and wear rating would coincide theoryetically speaking
ie 260 = less wear more grip (sticky) than 280 wear rating
 
I am using a FALKEN ZIEX ZE 502--245/50/16 H rated air pressure at 41 pounds I am not a small fellow but have laid over rubbing my footboards many times with no sidewall trouble PS. It handles great in the rain.

:eek:Got the federal fitted and guess what it rubs on the bloody swing arm, The toyo had 1/4inch clearance possibly a thinner carcase or as it appears to be when compareing the two tyres there is a fairly large build up "for looks"and to protect the rim on the federal, the Federal actually does not rub constantly just a a couple of raised spots like the lettering even still you can pass a thin piece of cardboard between it.. so I am not overly concerned, upcoming ride (1,000 round trip) to Sydney this weekend should wear the excess away. :D
Just letting you know as when I spoke to my tyre guy today he said he has seen some large differences between different tyre brands in the same size
