I had to sell my 01 SB Boss Hoss and wound up with a Valk Interstate. I have sold the Valk and now am riding the Rocket. I had a car tire on the Boss and the Valk but I had to remove the rear tire and have the splines greased every 10K miles on the Valk. I am sure I will be going with a car tire in the not to distant future on the R3.
How long can you go without having to service the rear splines on the R3.

I bought the bike used and didn't get a manuel with the bike, but thats pretty funny stuff (RTFM)
I guess the question should be, Can you run a car tire until it wears out without having to worry about the splines? 20K to 30K miles.
With my previous bike regardless of tire wear, you needed to service the pumpkin every 10K.

I think Juggs is implying to,
R(ead) M(y) F(******) S(ignature).
He's very generously supplied a manual there.
I'm pretty sure we all know what the RTFM refered to.

I would say every 10k just like the valk.

I don't think it's a part of the service schedule because it's a process that is part of rear wheel removal and reinstall and they would expect that you'd probably get 10k miles or less out of each rear MC tire and greasing would be handled thene.

Might as well, it's not that hard to pull the rear wheel off.

Thanks for the reply, I have been reading here on the site that there are people who have got over 50 to 60k miles on there bikes and alot of them are running on the darkside. With the Valk, I had to have the splines serviced even though I wasn't replaceing the tire after 10k or 11k miles. Sounds like this should be about the same.

Thanks again

Terry
